Oh My!!!!

So if you read my last post you would know I took part in a mail art exchange recently. Well my return mail art from the fantabulous Mindy Lacefield has arrived and boy do I LOVE it.

I just can’t tell you how exciting it was to see the beautifully decorated envelope sitting in my letter box. I knew instantly my little treasure had arrived (this little burst of sunshine literally leapt out from amongst boring old bills in their boring white envelopes). I couldn’t wait to open it.

I’ve been a huge admirer of Mindy’s amazing work for some time now. I just love her style. I was so excited, much like as a youngster (a looooong time ago) when I’d get mail from my pen pal. I’d run off to a quiet corner to savour the moment and pore over every little detail. I sat down, made myself a cup of tea and gently pried it open. It did not disappoint. Here is my little treasure.

Tim's Sally Mail Art

Isn’t it amazing?? I really adore everything about it and am so thrilled to have an artwork in my house by such a talented, kind and amazebubbles artist like Mindy.  You can read more about Mindy on her blog Tim’s Sally or check out her Etsy Store to get your hands on your own gorgeous artwork by this talented lady.

A bit of mindless trivia for you. I am a HUGE fan of Drew Barrymore. I’ve seen all of her movies (even the not so fabulous ones) and I just love her to bits. Anyway I was pretty impressed to see that Mindy recently sold one of her paintings to the Hollywood actress Ginnifer Goodwin (read all about it here). Now Ginnifer was in “He’s Just Not That Into You” with Drew so I figure a bonus to having this gorgeous little work of art by Mindy is that it also works out to be just 3 degrees of separation between me and Drew. Hahaha. I know, I’m a bit sad and have way too much time on my hands to think of such things but it’s what I do. Hahaha. Love it!!! Oh and I actually blogged before Xmas YAY!!!

  1. That’s so funny, I love Drew Barrymore as well! Wish I had the time to participate in these exchanges, I cant trust myself that I’ll get it done in time!

    • Isn’t Drew great. We have so much in common Mel :)
As for the mail art I really admire people like Mindy and others I’ve seen putting calls out for swaps. I’d love to do that too but the thought of putting together multiple little artworks to send out scares the heck out of me. I have enough trouble getting one or two finished for myself so I’m with you on that one. I totally couldn’t trust myself to host one. Answering someone else’s callout is fun though.

  2. Now I know why my snailmail is always late…To busy delivering to your house!!! Beautiful creation indeed, I am so happy the world is paying attention to the more wonderful things people are creating.
So get back to your friends young lady….tis the season…loveya!Debixo

    • I only wish my letterbox was filled with more beautiful snail mail like this Debi rather than all those pesky bills. :( It’s adorable isn’t it.
I’m still trying to find that naughty missing mojo of mine I’m afraid but hopefully I will have some new art up soon.
      xx
      Brooke.

  3. ooo fun mail! I will have to check that out. It’s beautiful as is your art.

    Have a great day!

    • Thanks Cassandra. Every time I look at my new little treasure it makes me smile. I love that art can do that. Thanks for reading my little blog and thank you for the lovely compliment *blush* :)
